In 1988, disillusioned and unfullfilled by the decadence and luxury she was promoting through her modeling, she decided to take a break from fashion and find herself. After breaking up with Taylor, she lived for 3 months in a kibbutz in Israel with her sister Heidi. Despite an offer to audition for the role of a Bond Girl in one the the upcoming James Bond films, the following year Renee ended her modeling career and returned to Denmark to study journalism. After failing the qualifying examination she began to study psychology instead.
From 1991 on she again worked as model for Vichy cosmetics. In 1993 Simonsen became the face of Biotherm cosmetics.
In 1997 she worked as a fashion editor for the Danish magazine Asschenfeldts Magasin, which was however stopped after a few issues. In summer she started a relationship with Danish rock singer Thomas Helmig, whom she married in August 2000.
In 2003 Simonsen signed a contract to the French cosmetic company Clarins and began appearing in magazine advertisements for mature skincare products. In October 2003 she published her first children's book, entitled Karlas Kabale. In 2006 her children's book Anthony Greenwood was nominated for the Danish book-prize "Orla" and she was awarded with "The Most Dynamic Women" award by cosmetic company Clarins for her social engagement at Plan Denmark.

Yes, we do. Do you have any of her high fashion covers? (Vogue, Cosmopolitan, etc.)
If so, please post them. Your pics are great!

actually we need more pics of all 80's supermodels, they're great. thanks again!

I agree with Contributor. Her Vogue and Cosmo covers are great--can you post some? (Her Mademoiselle covers are good, too)
Thanks!

Thanks, that's one I didn't have and how sad is this thread now!

She would have been a spectacular cover girl for SI

Too bad we can't get those in HQ. Are you new or starting over after the crash?

I'm new here. I had no idea there was a crash. I found it kind of peculiar that a lot of threads said the last post that was made there was sometime in September, though.

Welcome, there are some great contributors here and you can really add to your collection. I lost close to 500 posts inn the crash.
