"Mesmerize", the first half of System Of A Down's new double album, "Mesmerize/Hypnotize", has reportedly had its release date pushed back to May 17, reports Blabbermouth.net. "Hypnotize" is due out sometime this fall.
The first official single from the album, "B.Y.O.B.", will make its way to rock radio next month. A track called "Cigaro" has already been leaked online and picked up by stations around the country.
As previously reported, System Of A Down are rumored to be planning a show at the House of Blues in Anaheim, California in mid-March as part of MTV's "$2 Bill" concert series. No further details are currently available.
System Of A Down are rumored to be planning a "Souls 2005" benefit concert on April 24 at the Universal Amphitheatre in Universal City, California, according to SOADOnline.net.
The concert will raise awareness of the World War I-era mass murders of Armenians by Turkey's Ottoman Empire, which Turkey and several other nations, including the U.S., refuse to recognize as genocide.
Members of System Of A Down — Serj Tankian (vocals), Daron Malakian (guitars), Shavo Odadjian (bass), and John Dolmayan (drums) — are all of Armenian descent, and have been very active in supporting this cause for years. "Souls 2004", which took place on April 24, 2004 at the Greek Theatre in Los Angeles, was among the band's most recent efforts to raise awareness of the Armenian Genocide and other global abuses of human rights.

They're a good band. I have both of their records and they are equally good. My favourite songs are 'Toxicity' and 'Chop Suey!' which, in my opinion, are the best things they have recorded so far.
