I am so excited! After weeks of trying to figure out what bothers me with Adriana, I finally figured it out! And I tell you, understanding is a good thing, at least for me it is. It's her skin! Her skin recently has really, really bothered me. It's become pale, with an unusual hint of color thats almost looks yellow. Just look at her skin compared to Ana's, it just seems so unnatural, almost deathly pale, and it clashes horrible with her eyes and her features.

Thoughts . . .

Thanks! Yes! But not so much pale. Pale is the wrong word for it, its more like dull or sickly. It's almost like somebody took a piss on her and the color set it :x. :laugh:

she's a really famous fashion photographer...all her work looks the same to me...either the women look like vampires, or she's busy trying to "shock" the world with girls in dog collars and whatnot i just find her stuff really boring coz it always looks the same ...and while i understand that all good photographers have a certain style/look about their photos...hers piss me off to begin with...so the repetition is even more annoying

she did the Bebe ads that adriana was in...she's the one who did the "wicked" photoshoot that adri was in...actually she's photographed miss lima a lot...and i hate almost all of it...she's also the one who did this shoot with adriana & ana bb. the funny thing is the first thing i thought when i saw this set of pics was who the hell did this to these 2 lovely ladies? then marduk told me it was a really famous photographer...ellen von something or other...and thats when i knew...i officially hated her work

We'll, never noticed it! But its not just that picture. Shes on the cover of the VS catalogue, and she looks awful. Her skin lacks the richness and color that I've always associated with her. Not only has she lost that color, she's obtained a new one that contrasts with the rest of her so sharply that its difficult to admire anything but facial shots of her anymore. She needs a vacation to Brazil, fast . . .

actually maybe its coz i dont like tans...but i think she looks fine on the VS covers (both of them). she doesnt look awful to me, but whatever floats your boat

....its a very big difference....and considering the fact that it is not summer time anymore the girls are not going to have a darker skin tone...and when comparing it to scans...you cant trust the scans because the scanner enhances the colors....i know i do.....here is one of my ale scans...

how can somebody from Latin America not like tans . . . ? To me, tans and rich skin tones is the most attractive thing a woman can have. It blends in smoothly better with clothes, eyes, nature. A dark skin tone is natural, and natural is super sexy. A pale or sickly yellow skin tone does not look sexy. Theres also the exotic factor, Adriana Lima is supposed to be Brazilian, remember! It's why I never really liked Gisele, she always tried to be something other than herself. Dark Hair, sexy eyes, smoth chocolate skin, that is what Adriana needs to stick too, nothing more, nothing less.

its also what the company wants, what the photographers wants out of the model....the total shoot in general....its not just the model....you have to think about that.

Heres some proof tho. Look at some of her pics from NY Fashion week . . . she has a bloody sun burn. Her chest and shoulders are all red!

she was just on vacation....August is when she usually takes her vacation....too much sun time means you will get burned.

anyone can get sunburned.....im naturally olive colored and i can get burned if i spend too much time in the sun.

oi, yes, anybody can get sunburned. But looking at some of those runway pics from NYFW, she didn't have much color before the burn. You can just tell. But I am glad that shes got some now. Maybe her skin will get a litte darker.

easy, we're not all tanned. i am not of a tanned complexion, i know many latin americans who are not tanned. we range for very light (yes i'm talking blue eyes, blonde hair) to very dark (dark skin, eyes, coarser hair texture, etc). thats why latinos arent considered a race in this country...

its nice that u like tans and rich skin tones, but not everyone is naturally dark skinned...so i'm not exactly sure what u mean by "a dark skin tone is natural." i do agree that natural is sexy...i am naturally a fair skinned individual... ??

some people are natually pale. i had a gorgeous friend who was very VERY fair skinned. she was of eastern european descent and she always joked about how she was white as fuck. i dont think she was any less "sexy" because she was pale. it was just who she was....or rather is.

nationality-wise, yes she's brazilian. but just like the rest of latin america, brazilians have a REALLY wide range of races...see: cintia dicker. they can be fair skinned, dark skinned, mocha, red headed, blonde, whatever.... there's no one "look" for a brazilian.

gisele is ethnically german (not everyone knows this...i dont know if u do or dont). that said, i personally hate that gisele dyed her hair...i liked it the way it was...nice and dark...i also hate that alessandra did it, and ana bb...and countless other brunette models who go blonde.

Dark was maybe too strong of a word, SOME kind of color is natural. white as fuck, as you say, is not natural, I don't care where your from, you should never be so white that its painful to look at. Even if your from Siberia, you should never be THAT pale. I consider myself pale, but I still have some color, I am not so white that my skin looks awful when I wear black.

Adriana isn't at that point, but I would say she looks pale for somebody who has had a incredible skin tone for a long time. Like you said, there are different variations, but HER specific variation is the dark, exoctic look. I dunno, maybe I am being a little too critical, but I just liked Adriana the way she was when I met her.

i believe i said i was fair skinned, not pale... i, however, know what i look like in person. i know what i look like with a tan and without a tan. and i know that i am fair skinned. and everyone i have ever spoken to is shocked that i am even 1/16 jamaican...so i have no idea where you even got "at least 1/2 african american" from

what exactly is your definition of natural tho? my friend was born a very pale white child. is that not natural...for her? i guess clarification on the term natural would be good here.

when i left a dedication in maddog's thread, thats when
