Penelope Cruz: Big Apple Beauty

Still situated in the Big Apple, Penelope Cruz stepped out of her hotel in New York City on Saturday afternoon (October 10).
Looking lovely, the 35-year-old Spanish actress seemed to be in a bit of a hurry as she quickly walked past awaiting paparazzi while continuing along with her “Broken Embraces” promotions.
Aside from “Broken Embraces,” Miss Cruz is gearing up for the upcoming release of another film, as the Rob Marshall directed movie “Nine” will be making its way into theaters on December 25th.
Speaking about the toll-taking filming, Marshall told press: “She [Penelope] does all this work with ropes--she was swinging on them and it was scary, and she had formed calluses and her hands were bleeding. We had told her she should wear gloves, but she was like: ‘No--I have to feel it.’”
He added: “There’s this huge sheath of pink satin that she slides down on. When we finished the scene, she had disappeared behind the satin and was in tears.”
While the whole scenario sounds quite unpleasant, Penelope said that she “loved every second. I want to install ropes in my bedroom, so I don’t have to let go of it.”

Beautiful, Thanks!

Talk about an A-list crowd! Madonna brought boyfriend Jesus Luz to dinner with Penélope Cruz, her boyfriend Javier Bardem and the actress's family at Mr. Chow in New York. The pop diva and Luz arrived 20 minutes late – and joined the Cruz clan who were "very happy," an onlooker says. Madonna sipped martinis but Cruz skipped the alcohol at dinner. The group also shared chicken satay and duck during their two-hour meal. "They group was loud, laughing and seemed overall [to be] in great spirits," the onlooker says.People.com

Penélope Cruz Makes a Sex/City Cameo
By Michelle Tan
The Sex and the City sequel just got a little more fabulous.
Along with the original fab four – Sarah Jessica Parker, Kim Cattrall, Kristen Stewart and Cynthia Nixon – Penélope Cruz and Liza Minnelli are both appearing along with Jason Lewis, who is reprising his role as Samantha's younger ex.
Despite previous reports, Cruz doesn't play herself in the film. For her cameo, the Oscar-winner fills the designer shoes of a banker, a source tells PEOPLE.
Cruz's character may spell trouble for Carrie (Parker). Clad in a sexy backless black dress, Cruz was spotted at the Empire Hotel earlier this week filming a scene in which she gets a little too close to Mr. Big, played by Chris Noth.
Minnelli, meanwhile, filmed for three days on the Manhattan-based set. When she wrapped, she broke into a rendition of "Every Time I Say Goodbye" for the cast and crew.
"A total hush fell over the set. You could have heard a pin drop, it was such a moving moment," says an on-set source. "Everyone had goose bumps, tears. It was a really lovely parting gift she felt like giving everyone."
And Lewis returns as Hollywood It Boy Smith Jerrod, who will be celebrating the opening of his latest blockbuster alongside his former flame Samantha. The actor was just spotted filming scenes earlier in the week in New York City.
The movie is due to hit theaters next summer.
