Michalak out for nine months
France half-back Frederic Michalak will miss nine months of rugby after tearing cruciate knee ligaments during Toulouse's 29-0 win over Stade Français.
The 27-year-old told Canal Plus: "I felt a crack when I tried to tackle the Paris player. There was a crack at the outside of the knee. "We will have to do tests to find out exactly what happened."
Michalak will be replaced in the France squad by in-form Biarritz scrum-half Dimitri Yachvili. Michalak was stretchered off after just two minutes of Toulouse's win, to be replaced by Byron Kelleher and now faces up to nine minths on the sidelines.
"A scan showed he had torn the cruciate ligaments in his left knee. His season is over and what will happen to him is what happened to Vincent Clerc (in 2008) he will need a year to come back to his best level," manager Guy Noves told Reuters.
"Frederic will undergo surgery on Wednesday in Toulouse."

Cheetahs win comes at a cost
The Cheetahs' party after beating the Hurricanes was cut short on Sunday when Heinrich Brussow was ruled out of the rest of the Super 14.
The Springbok flank picked up a knee injury during the final minutes of the 28-12 win and could even be out of the entire Tri-Nations. "Heinrich will definitely miss the Super 14 and could be out of the Currie Cup as well," assistant coach Hawies Fourie told the Keo website.
