no its never been posted before, thanks so much!

Vanity Fair Italy Sept 2010 - an article on Marco Glaviano's photography with several pictures of Paulina - one of which (the first one of her) I had never seen before.
Here's a very loose translation of the main heading on page 207 as well as the paragraphs that appear with Paulina's pictures. Again, I'm quite sure if we have an Italian Bellazon friend, they could provide a much better translation than I can - I used my translation widget and then did some interpretation so it made sense....
Pg207
When models delighted men
pg207 (caption with Paulina)
Czech, 45, top model and actress, married since 1989 to singer Ric Ocasek. In 1988 earned a record 6-million-dollar contract with Estee Lauder. Here and in a release for Vogue Italy in the '90's, in the New York studio of Marco Glaviano "there was no photoshop then, her hair was actually flying" says the Sicilian photographer.
pg210
Paulina Porizkova - a top model, one preferred by Glaviano, here with the 5 top models of the eighties for Harper's Bazaar magazine but this picture was not used.
pg214
Some pictures of Porizkova taken by Marco Glaviano: she parodies the covers of great fashion magazines like Vogue, Cosmopolitan and Marie Claire and she also impersonates Jack Nicholson.
smaller versions of the pages:

I'm not Italian but I know Italian language very well and I have worked extensively in Italy---Basically the article revolves around the concept "at that time, living on the runway was not a sin but a moral duty" and is full of paradoxes that are not easy to render into English because the Italian language is not so concise and lends itself for a good use of double meanings and nuances."The world has been corrupted by Bono Vox" the writer says"Today's models are too intellectual, not sufficiently irresponsible and not relevant to anyone"

Hi amy28 - welcome! ![]()
And thank you, fender for helping a bit with the Italian article. ![]()

Again, on Marco Glaviano - one of his favorite things that Paulina could do was the "flying hair." He said "It's a very difficult picture because she had to tilt her head back and up, and then whip it around and come out of it with such a great expression on her face. It's something only Paulina could do." It became one of her signature poses - I found as many as I could in my files...a lot of these were taken by Marco (these have all been posted here before in higher quality)

love these pics. ![]()

Thanks red for the grear scan of this cover! ![]()

12mb!!!!! S, if I saved everything as large as you post my hard drive would have blown up! This must be one of her 1st covers.

OOPS! Sorry, Jal
- that one ended up bigger than I expected. Thank you for telling me.
For some reason, using my new scanning software, they are coming out more massive than they used to and I have all the settings the same. Believe it or not, I actually shrink them some before posting too! And you're right - my poor hard-drive is filling up fast! I do think this was one of her first covers. I've seen it a couple of times before in LQ but I'm happy to finally have it.
Here's a more reasonable one...
and you're welcome, Dayrell, glad you like it! ![]()
