I'm with you. The only time I did was when I was 13 and wrote a letter to Laetitia Casta hoping to get a signed photo, and I said that I hoped she got the cover because she was clearly the most beautiful model in the whole mag (SI 1998).
Never got a reply, probly because my French "translation" was terrible - Alta Vista was all I had. I hadn't discovered how truly awful it was until years later when I had learned some Spanish and used it.
Still, if I had to pick though, I'd have to say

would be my choice.
on the SI site it says that they will put up the new pics at midnight e/t so no one needs to watch letterman

The magazine is for sale (well in the US anyway, nowhere else <_< ) but I see no sign of any DVD.
I don't think they care about the fans. I bet they've recorded the footage, they'll broadcast it but not sell a DVD of it 
but may give it to people who subscribe for a year and will definitely put low resolution clips on their site and youtube but I doubt they'll release any form of DVD for sale on sites like amazon or other stores.

Yes. Marisa more than anyone deserves the cover. She's been doing it for years, and she has the best body of the models with SI right now. Although I don't get SI Swimsuit anymore beacuse Petra's gone.

I don't think it has to do with "caring" about the fans as it does being a business decision. If potential sales/profit from a DVD aren't worthwhile, they just aren't going to do one. It would be bad business if they did.

The thing is, I bet they do create a standard definition DVD (from the high definition footage they have).
They'll then give that DVD free to yearly subscribers, but I'll bet they'll not sell it at amazon or elsewhere.
I don't understand how that makes good business sense. If they make thousands of DVDs, why not sell them separately too and profit?? It does not compute?? :|
