Natalie Portman Opens Up About Pregnancy, Engagement

She's getting major Oscar buzz (again) for her performance in Black Swan, but Natalie Portman's biggest new roles in 2011 may be offscreen -- as a new mom and bride.

On Monday, hours after her surprise that she's expecting and engaged to dancer/choreographer Benjamin Millipied, Portman, 29, released a brief statement to Entertainment Weekly.

"I have always kept my private life private," the actress said, "But I will say that I am indescribably happy and feel very grateful to have this experience."

This will be the first child and the first marriage for Portman, who met Millipied on the set of Black Swan. French-born Millipied has a small on-screen role in the acclaimed psychological thriller, directed by Darren Aronofsky.

Before Millipied, Israeli-born, Harvard-educated Portman has been romantically linked to former model Nathan Bogle, indie rocker Devendra Banhart and actor Gael Garcia Bernal.

The No Strings Attached co-stars presented the award for favorite movie. Taylor Lautner, Kristen Stewart, and Robert Pattinson accepted on behalf of Twilight!

Natalie, who’s also newly engaged, wore a silk chiffon pleated dress from Jason Wu’s Pre Fall 2011 collection.

The Black Swan star used the ruffles of a Jason Wu dress to camouflage her stomach, as she and No Strings Attached co-star Ashton Kutcher walked onstage to present an award.

The Israeli-American star, 29, is expecting her first child with fiancé, ballet choreographer Benjamin Millepied, in the spring.

In a statement the actress said: 'I have always kept my private life private but I will say that I am indescribably happy and feel very grateful to have this experience.'
