OMG, TR, have I ever mentioned how much I hate the US postal service? :|

I have this bad habit of sending out my credit card payments only a few days before they're due, so this month I was like, "I'm not going to be late again!" So on Wednesday, I went to put the bill in the mailbox at around 2pm, since the mailman always comes at 2:30, but just as I stepped outside, the mailman was going by. I was kind of annoyed to see he was early, but no big deal, I could just put it in the mailbox on Thursday earlier than 2 to make sure I didn't miss the mailman again. So yesterday/Thursday I go to mail the bill at 1pm just to make sure, and just as I step outside, the mailman goes by. I was even more annoyed to see he was yet even earlier, but I figured there's always Friday/today, so today I go to mail the bill at NOON, and -- you guessed it -- the mailman is just driving by as I step outside.

So now I'm really pissed because I've been screwed three consecutive times and that means I have to drive to the post office, which is a bit out of the way when you live in the country. But I figure it's still not too bad because I'm way earlier than the postal pickup times for the blue boxes so the bill could still go out today, but when I drop the bill in, it sounds very hollow inside, which isn't good. So I check the pickup times, and -- no surprise -- the pickup time (which has never changed as long as I've known it) has been changed to FIVE MINUTES BEFORE I GOT THERE and the mid-afternoon pickup time has been canceled, which means my bill is going to sit there all weekend and only get mailed on Monday, which will mean my bill is late like always. :anger:

Does the postal service have some sort of conspiracy to screw me over?

Oh sweetie, not THAT extreme.

Who's ready for more of my complaining? So just a few minutes ago, I got up and left my room to check my email and just as I was stepping through the doorway, my cat runs past me and hits my foot just enough for me to hit the doorframe with the edge of my foot with the full force of the step. Just to make sure I wasn't bleeding, I took off my sock and found I'd taken the entire toenail off my pinkie toe. It hasn't started to swell yet, but it's pretty gruesome looking. R.I.P. little pinkie toenail.

There's something about the mail and you that doesn't work... you never have luck when it involves mail
