I think he used to be a professional footballer (soccer player), but I don't know for certain.
I´ve looked the video at the beginning of the thread again, in the beginning of the video they say that he was discovered with the age of 17 and he wanted to become a professional football-player, he played at the football-club Vienna, 2 members of the football club wanted to make a calendar for family and friends, his father sent his picture to the model-agency Wiener Models and so his career as model started.
