Football or soccer as we in the US call it, unfortunatly we only have a Division 1 soccer program over here and its not very popular. This is a bummer because soccer is a beautiful game when it is played well i.e. Europe,

What does everyone think of the Champions League draw?

Personally I think that the highlights are Barca vs. Chelsea and AC Milan vs. Manchester United.

The draw:

Real Madrid v Juventus

FC Porto v Inter Milan

Barcelona v Chelsea

Werder Bremen v Lyon

Liverpool v Bayer Leverkusen

PSV v Monaco

Manchester United v AC Milan

Bayern Munich v Arsenal

don't underestimate Bayer . . . they're experienced. remember, only a couple of years ago they were in the CL final with Toeppmoller.

your right though Liverpool do have the best draw . . .

isn't Steven Gerrard out of the first leg though?

thanks, man

btw, what does everyone think of Ronaldinho being voted FIFA World Player of the Year?

Results:

1. Ronaldinho (Barcelona)

2. Henry (Arsenal)

3. Shevchenko (AC Milan)

i think that Ronaldinho deserved to win 'cos he is so amazingly good and he plays with a smile on his face

Ronaldinho is amazing, I'd love to see him play for the Real, unfortunately his contract rescission is about 150 mill so it wont happen until 2010 or something like that.

the only club that i could see Ronaldinho going to in the future is Chelsea and that would have to be in a few years time or if he wanted to leave Barca and would take a hell of a lot of money!!

i really can't understand why Real brought David Beckham when for a fraction of the price they could have got Ronaldinho from PSG last Summer . . .

Only thing I ever saw of this sport was when that one guy messed up that other guys leg and his shin split through the skin. That was cool.

Actually, I like the sport, Just here in the US, they don't show it on TV unless you have, well all of the channels available. So I don't know much about the sport, but I'm learning.

Now I'll go back to just lurking in this thread, and trying to learn what I can.

I just need to watch a few games I think.

I watched some last summer when I had digital cable, and I was starting to get a feel for things, but then they stopped showing it. Then we lost digital, so that was the end of that.

The best way to enjoy a game is in the stadium watching your favorite team with a beer in one hand and a flag in the other, unfortunately for you americans the MLS is really crappy so if you want to see real football you'll have to watch it on Espn
