but the line 'shes just a substitute for what was taken from me' leads me to believe

that its either about someone who lost his daughter or daughter grew up and hes missing

his little girl. on that level i can relate my kids graduating in a few weeks

and i see little boys and just want to hug em....you do feel a sense of loss and want that

little boy or little girl back. see, i tell myself thats what the song is about so i dont

have to go bathe in rubbing alcohol.

As for favorite covers... that's tough. I do like RHCP's cover on "Higher Ground"

Kenny G's cover version definitely sucks (N) . But I still think even if I had never heard of the original versions, Hilary's "My Generation" would still be worse :x .
