Yes, Cindy started modeling in the mid 80s. Participated in a modeling contest alongside Stephanie Seymour (the "Look of the Year" contest) sometime in either 1983 or 84. Neither one of them won though.

Paulina started modeling in the early 80s. The earliest modeling picture I've ever seen of her is from 1981.
