Courtney by Julia

Her early film roles include Masters of the Universe (1987) and Cocoon: The Return (1988). Cox's early television work include a starring role in the short-lived television series Misfits of Science (1985), and later a recurring role (1987 - 1989) on the television series Family Ties. She had a supporting role in the 1990 fantasy film Mr. Destiny.

In 1994, shortly before the debut of Friends, Cox appeared in the film Ace Ventura: Pet Detective and on Seinfeld.

Later in 1994, Cox was asked to audition for the part of Rachel Green on a new sitcom called Friends, but she was instead cast as the character Monica Geller. At first the most famous cast member of the new show, Cox joined fellow castmates for what would become her most famous role, lasting for 10 seasons until 2004.

During her time on Friends, Cox appeared in the highly successful and high-profile Hollywood films Scream (1996), Scream 2 (1997), and Scream 3 (2000).

Although she starred in several other films during her time on Friends, none achieved the same level of success as the show. Such films include The Runner, 3000 Miles to Graceland and The Shrink Is In.

Since Friends, Cox has primarily concentrated on her family but has starred in the independent film November (2005), which had a limited theatrical release, co-starred with Tim Allen in the critically derided Zoom and cameoed in the big budget remake of The Longest Yard. She has recently supplied her voice for the animated film Barnyard.

Since 2007, Cox has starred as Lucy Spiller, a tabloid editor, in Dirt, a television drama for the FX Network. According to Cox, the series was canceled after the second season in 2008.

Marceau started her career at 14 when Claude Pinoteau cast her in the starring role of the teenager movie La Boum (1980). Filming began on July 17 and finished in time for her school's fall term. After viewing the rushes, Alain Poiré, the director of the Gaumont Film Company, signed Marceau to a long-term contract.

La Boum was a hit not only in France, where 4.5 million tickets were sold, but in Italy, Japan and elsewhere. In 1983, Marceau received the César Award (France's equivalent of an Oscar) for Most Promising Actress.

After starring in the sequel film La Boum 2 in 1982, Marceau focused on more dramatic roles, including Fort Saganne and Joyeuse Pâques (Happy Easter) in 1984, L'Amour Braque and Police in 1985, and Descente aux Enfers (Descent Into Hell) in 1986. In 1988, she starred in L'Etudiante (The Student) and Chouans!. That year, Marceau was named Best Romantic Actress at the International Festival of Romantic Movies for her role in Chouans.

In 1989, she starred in Mes nuits sont plus belles que vos jours (My Nights are more Beautiful than your Days). In 1990, she starred in Pacific Palisades and La Note Bleue. In 1991, she ventured into the theater in Eurydice, which earned a Marceau a Moliere Award for Most Promising Newcomer.

Marceau began making less-dramatic films, such as the comedy Fanfan in 1993 and La Fille de D'Artagnan in 1994 — both popular in Europe and abroad. That year, she returned to the theatre as Eliza Dolittle in Pygmalion.

In 1995, Marceau achieved international recognition as Princess Isabelle in Braveheart. That year, she was part of an ensemble of international actors in the French film Beyond the Clouds. In 1997, Marceau continued with Firelight, Marquise and Anna Karenina.

In 1999, two films defined her as an international star: Midsummer Night's Dream and she became a Bond girl in The World Is Not Enough.

In 2000, Marceau teamed up again with her then-boyfriend Andrzej Zulawski to film La Fidélité.
