Not a mid-term or final but in 8th grade I missed the Friday history test 3 weeks in a row because I stayed home "sick". Then on the fourth week I didn't want to miss another test so I stayed home on Thursday instead. And when I came in on Friday I found out that my teacher had surprised everybody by making them take it on Thursday. 
When he was giving me the test in the hallway I started to explain that I didn't mean to miss another one but my teacher was just cut me off like, "yeah, yeah"
And I used to ace those tests anyways. Cool story, bro.
