British beauty Naomi Campbell has always enjoyed a close relationship with top designers Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana. Now the fashion trio will be seeing more of each other after the Streatham-born star signed up to become the new face of their Italian label. At an age when many supermodels are hanging up their heels, the 38-year-old beauty has reportedly been holding secret talks with the designers in a deal thought to be worth £1 million. "They have a relationship that spans decades and now the plan is for Naomi to be their official muse and ambassador," a source told the Mail On Sunday newspaper. "She'll be at the shows and will star in their worldwide advertising campaigns." Long-time good friends, the designers threw the catwalk queen a lavish party in Cannes earlier this year to celebrate her birthday, as well as donating several gowns for her Fashion For Relief charity show last Wednesday.

When Dolce and Gabbana custom-made a handful of stunning dresses for Naomi Campbell at London Fashion Week, it was a clear indication that the supermodel and the flamboyant designers enjoy a very close relationship. Indeed, the special collection of D&G dresses helped the supermodel raise £30,000 in an auction for her favourite White Ribbon charity. Now, I can report that the South London-born catwalk queen is in secret talks to be the new face of the Italian fashion house in a deal thought to be worth £1million. ‘Naomi will be guest of honour at the D&G fashion show in Milan this week. It’s all part of welcoming her to the clan,’ says my mole in Milan. ‘She and Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana have been in secret talks for a while about making her D&G’s next face. ‘They have had a relationship that spans decades and now the plan is for Naomi to be their official muse and ambassador. She’ll be at the shows and will star in their worldwide advertising campaigns. An absolutely huge deal is on the table.’ The designers threw Naomi, 38, a birthday party in Cannes in May where the deal was first discussed. ‘The final deal is about to be signed off any day now,’ my source says. The designers were busy preparing for their show and unable to fly to London last week for Naomi’s Fashion For Relief event but the special delivery of dresses was said to be their way of saying thank you to Naomi and supporting her. Naomi is already the face of fashion houses Yves Saint Laurent and Pinko. Although she is currently doing 200 hours’ community service after her recent air rage incident aboard a BA jet, her career continues to flourish. Unlike her friend Kate Moss, she still walks on the runway and made several appearances at London Fashion Week. Spokesmen for Dolce & Gabbana and Naomi Campbell last night declined to comment.

Supermodel Naomi Campbell wants to donate money to the London homeless shelter she served her recent community sentence in, because she realises how worthwhile the cause is. The British beauty was ordered to undertake 200 hours of unpaid work at Whitechapel Mission centre as punishment for assaulting two police officers on board a British Airways flight at the city's Heathrow Airport in April (08). She completed her sentence at the start of September (08), and she learned so much about the charity during her volunteer work that she has promised to return to the soup kitchen soon to donate some cash. She says, "They (shelter volunteers) are lovely people. "When I get a chance, I'm definitely going to be donating money to the place."
