^ Maybe what you read was this (it's a further reading link in the article/gallery you posted), which confirms that Greene will only be in ads within the issue. So no worries, people, she's not officially an SI model.
And no, the models don't appear in the ads.

Okay, thanx. I guess I don't look at the mags many times after the initial look. It seems like I see Brooklyn or Marisa or someone like that in Bud ads and other stuff, too. Could be losing my mind

i'm glad ashley is going to be in the S.I. swimsuit 2010 edition. she is really pretty and she looks really nice in those body painting pictures. i think she would be great for the cover. just how they did with beyonce, i could see S.I. doing this again with ashley, i would not mind ashley getting the cover, which i do prefer a model getting the cover like daniella, esti or hilary.

^ Yeah, in terms of seniority she definitely has earned a cover (and a brunette would be a nice change), but obviously SI doesn't work like that if ABB never got a cover.

She just had a baby right? Or she was pregnant while they were shooting or something like that ... & i can't remember sein' Julie in SI before if im not bad, so if she's a Rookie this year you have to wait until Feb.9th

& i like Daniella, & yeahp she's been doin' SI since 2005 so she deserves the cover ... To me the three girls w/the best chances to get the cover are Daniella, Irina & Brooklyn ... But i Anne V seems to be in the run too ... So who knows, it took seven years for Marisa to finally get the damn cover so obviously they don't give a damn about that, i wouldn't be surprise if a rookie or some random actress get the cover =/

Maybe Ashley is the "Never modeled before" rookie? ... & i don't like they have an actress doin' SI, but i love Ashley & she looks AMAZIING, way better than Beyonce in 2007

Then they would probably have given her a literal editorial. Per the Huffington Post article, she's only going to be in the issue because SoBe has paid for the ad space. It doesn't seem to have anything to do with SI casting her as a model.

After watching the sneak peak ... Im not feelin' Daniella =/ ... But besides my two loves my favs are Esti, Irina & specially Hilary Rhoda they're lookin' HOT! ...

P.S: I saw some of the rookies, but no idea of who they are, anyone knows?

Based on that video, the issue looks like it will be good. I wish they wouldn't have blitzed through it so much though. I couldn't tell if some of the girls were the rookies or vets that I just didn't get a good enough look at. I also thought I spied Tori Praver, whose fans were all saying she wouldn't be in the issue, if I'm remembering that correctly. Oops, it was Esti.
