there's too many types of schizophrenia <_< and too many symptoms (double <_<)

so quiz time, why are symptoms divided into positive and negative types?

positive symptoms indicate something that is actually present that shouldnt be...hallucinations, delusions, etc whereas negative symptoms refer to what's lacking that should be there...flat affect (no emotion), avolition (no energy), etc.

and yeah, there are too many types of schizophrenia -- most people think of paranoid schizo. when they think of the disorder but there's disorganized and catatonic and of course "undifferentiated." in any case, it's an extremely disturbing and really tragic disorder
