I suspended French' posting abilities for five days. She bashed Bar Rafaeli again in her thread. I'd be in favor of banning her on her next infraction, she's already at 40% warn level!

As I was talking to ToniRenee yesterday through PM's I have a concern that we have someone (SickSix) on BZ pretending to be someone else.

I noticed you talk to Mark (SickSix) when I clicked on his name when he went to my page, I just wanted to tell you to know what your doing. I've talked to him a long time ago, and by the way he talked hes a little too much of a horn ball... One odd thing that I found was that the thread that he started when he first came to BZ he edited, I could of sworn when I saw his picture in the Post Your Picture Thread that was not the picture I saw of him at all, at least that was what it appeared to me. I don't know whether he was lying to me or anybody else here but why would you change your picture? or edit your thread that you started when you first came? I remember that introduction had pictures of him in it with his car and himself, I don't know why someone would take that down unless he wanted to hide somhttp://www.bellazon.com/main/index.php?ething. I'm not saying don't talk to him that's completely up to you but I just decided to let you know in case he starts talking to you in an odd way. I wish I still had those message logs! I deleted them when I change laptops.

Thanks... and I know... I tried really hard to keep him from getting all pervey. I succeeded for a while... then he told me he loves me. I was like :| ... so I haven't been talking to him... I don't know why he left that comment on my page. And I know that he changed the person he posted pictures of. The guy that he posted in the thread is not the guy that he sent me pictures of Thank you for being concerned.

He edited post when he first came to BZ and started a topic, I clearly remember him posting a picture of him and his cars... the odd thing is that recently before he posted in the post your picture thread he deleted it, I don't see why you would have to delete your old posts unless you have something to hide? And you can tell when he posted in the post your picture thread that the last picture is not the same person as the other 2 Link.

I have checked out his IP addresses and read through all his posts. I haven't found anything that proves he is indeed trolling, however he does give me a sense of skeeviness We will keep an eye on him (Y)

Oh , you scared me , thought TR and Destiny were in trouble .

But, another interresting character is this 'RocktheSky' guy. Doesn't come off to me as a purely maliciously bad guy by any means, but it amazes me that he manages to so consistantly get into it with even people like Berno and red_ed...who you don't see arguing with anyone else .

^ RocktheSky is an interesting character. He is like a flaming/baiting bomb that could go off anytime. He also has made some very inappropriate racial comments in the past that was making some peaceful members uncomfortable If he keeps being a jerk, I can totally see him banned

I am letting you do it b/c 1) You were the one who caught him 2) You have never warned anyone before, so this will be a learning opportunity

How do you actually warn someone , through PM ?

Under every profile there is a "Warn bar." It has a green button on the left and a red button on the right. To increase warning click on the red button and vice versa. It will then bring you to another page. On that page there are various options:

"Enforce moderator preview of all new posts," which pretty much means until further notice this member's post must be approved by a staff member prior to it being visible on the board. For now don't worry about this b/c this function is currently broken

"Disable this members posting ability." Rarely is this function is used unless the member is an uncontrollable freak, and we must find a quick way to stop him/her when banning is not possible at the moment And we use this function for spammers who advertise on our board.

"Suspend member's account." I personally would not suspend a member until the 3rd warning. When a member gets his/her third warning, we will revisit this function in further details

Now for the most important parts...

"Reason for this warn adjustment. This section must be completed." Fill in why this person is being warned, and if you like included link(s) to the problematic post(s).

"Email / PM Subject" and "Send message to member. Leave blank to not contact the member." I usually title the message "Warning," but feel free to title it something else. There are 2 methods of notifying the member of their warning: PM or Email. I usually pick PM b/c it is the easiest and not everyone check their emails. In the message box, reiterate why they are being warned. I usually write something like, "You warning level has been raised because..." and maybe provide a link to the rules. But of course you can compose and add or remove whatever contents you like.

Finally, you click on "Alter Warn Level"

It is not often we decrease someone's warn level but it does happen. Again, we will further discuss this when the situation arises. I don't want to confuse or overwhelm you

Joe, thank you so much for doing such a great job modding. You have done a lot since your promotion I just want to give you a heads up that there will be times your friends on the board will try to test you. They might break a rule here or there (mainly rules regarding flaming, bashing and baiting) and assume b/c of your friendship you will let them get away with it. I know I went through that Remember rules are rules. If a member, esp. those who know the rules very well, commits a violation you must let them know it is not ok. Letting them slide will only cause more violations. It is a irony how by enforcing the rules members gain more respect for you than if you let them slide
