Since it was only her third instance of flaming, I think her level should've increased. A ban was totally uncalled for

never have we let it hit 100% before a ban (10 warns). I am more then open to suggestions and if the vast majority of you feel she shouldnt have been banned then we can unban. Speak up yall :trout:

I don't really want to take sides I've stated my point with the banning but I want to hear the other mods/admins have their say

first off i think the bannings were a bit premature....yes eventually the two would lead up to a ban but i think we were a bit too quick to do that

second....capt knows the forum VERY well and he knows every way in and out...he probably has already got another way in...whether it be a proxy or some other trick

I think what caused this whole war was the amount of miscommunication, [inter]personal issues, and a bit of groupthink among certain members. I won't bore you w/ the the psycho-babble. From what I see the main issue has very little to do with the board itself, but people are using the board as a projection and a medium to "let out" the real issue. What is the real issue, you ask? I have no idea, but for it to come to this point it is obviously there is more than just the concept of BZ, being banned, resigning from the board, and etc. that is causing all this anger.

No one really knows what is really going on except the parties involved. Yes, we might hear things here and there, but as they say there are 3 sides of the story: those on side #1, those on side #2, and the "truth." We all have our own interpretations and perceptions about what is going on, so it is hard to judge what is the "truth." However, it is often easier to side w/ those of our friends and not truly see things objectively.

Also, I have noticed forums do bring out the worst in people at times, especially when people get too involved and not realize it is not life. Yes, it is part of our lives, but it does not define a person as a whole. I think people sometimes forget that and take things more seriously than they really are.

All the things I have just said are just general comments. I am not directing it at anyone in particular. I just wanted to make things clear so they would not be any further misunderstandings

Now, whether OS and Capt. should have been banned intially, it is a judgement call. Perhaps they both should have gotten 3 warnings, and yes they are "regaular members," but before that they were also staff memebers which means they were well aware what was coming. It is obvious they have an agenda to bring this place down. Therefore I say we continue to keep them banned b/c unbanning them would just cause a bigger mess.

As a personal side note, regardless who is "right" or "wrong," I don't understand why they insist on putting so much energy to tear this place apart I mean if you hate us so much, but waste your time with is "incompetent" people (The Capt. called our staff incompetent quite a few times)? Also, they have their own forum now, so why still come here? For anyone to be so fueled with hostility and anger, it is again obvious an [inter]personal issue, not a BZ issue. One more thing, we are all adutls here, why regress and become children again? We are all better than that

ur right the issues are very personal and they dont really have a vendetta against the forum...it was a matter of a conflict of interest between the staff....and thats why they left

Not to get the pot boiling anymore, but to set the record straight, and if you saw it last night in Neo's thread I explained it also, but I never said this:

No such words ever came from my mouth, maddog paraphrased in a manner that would make me look like a complete jackass.

I just want to clear the air between the mods who do speak english as a second language, I never said what he is saying I said there, so please don't hold a grudge against me for something, I neither think, nor said. Valmount was a mod and he speaks english as a second language and he's one of my best friends here, why would I say something like that.

Anyways, just want to make sure you mods aren't offended, or thinking that I said something of that sort. He took what I said completely out of context and distorted it.

Let's just move on and start fresh

Warned and informed this guy, MaususOner, about the posting of pornographic material as well as the proper placement of threads on the board. I know he didn't actually post any porn, but he clearly didn't read the rules about pornographic content if he was asking for it in a thread.
