A question somewhat linked to the double account I reported: is there a way for a mod to prevent a member from posting until there is an admin around to delete his illegal account? (I mean like when someone has two accounts, or when someone who has been banned returns with another account).

Can we suspend their right to post or create threads? If so, how can we do that?

Also share their IP Address with Melissa and fery, the two members I reported earlier.

All four have 168.215.213.199 as their IP addy.

before you all go ban happy you are aware that if they share a router (say persuazn and her sis) they will have same IP addresses right? Now say you live on a university campus, it is possible that everyone on that campus has same IP. So im just saying it could be a crazy person talking to themselves or it could be legit. I would PM and figure it out prior to bannage

They all list different locations in their profiles:

Nouve: Spain

BB_London: Washington D.C.

Melissa: Spain

fery: Germany

So at least two of them must be lying about their location if they are indeed sharing one router.

I guess it's still possible they are legit and telling the truth if their traffic goes through one single connection over a WAN, but that seems a bit unlikely.

It's not like we ever just flat out ban someone for having the same IP addresses. We do detective work beforehand and look for red flags, so you don't need to remind us of this. We're well aware that IPs are not a 100% foolproof way of detecting multiple account holders

there is something interesting about Melissa though. She almost certainly has another account, that she registered on the same day but has not used at all. I think she probably changed her mind about the first username and just registered again. I'm going to PM her about it and ask. If it's what I think I'll just delete the first account. It doesn't seem like she meant any sneakiness or harm.

Oh and to answer your question Herve, there is a way you can suspend someone's account. When you go to change someone's warn level, there's a way you can disable their posting abilities, either indefinitely or for a set amount of time). We usually do this though when someone is excessively breaking the posting rules (hotlinking, nudity without a warning, porn pics, etc). We also do it immediately when the person is a spammer, so that they can't post again until an admin has time to ban them. We usually don't do it in cases such as these since the staff has to review whether or not they're even the same person. To disable their posting abilities before that would be unfair to them

From my point of view, I think the fact that they share an IP address but not a geographical location is somewhat weird in itself.

All four have a tendency of not capitalizing 'I'. Which proves absolutely nothing in itself, I guess.

Their IP address tracks back to a US based ISP. Considering that two of them claim to be in Spain and one of them in Germany, that seems a bit fishy.

Some members mask their IP addys, but I doubt it's the case in this situation.

errrr... thanks , but in fact it was not nudity , it was technically top-less and i didn't find anything against that in the forum rules , because by that rule a girl in bikini is nude too and i see lots of pics like that in the board , so i must make an official complaint before the supreme court

Tell him that topless is nudity for most of the people on here and his failure to understand and respect that isn't an excuse.

^ He knows it was nudity. Trust me. He is a member of enough forums to understand what he did wrong. Which is why I so many to blast at him. Oh well, it is not the first time and probably won't be last that he's acting like a prick <_<
