I don't get the idea that the person who was cheated on is the one who needs to be "classy" when they are the ones who were wronged?

I can't recall how Candice announced her divorce, I'm guessing she was more subtle about it but had she been more catty, who could blame her (as I recall that also ended after he cheated on her).
