Their sales have been decreasing. So, it seems that their new strategy (to cope with it) is to fit with mainstream media narratives in order to get on their good side, which is supposed to generate exposure (and, in turn, sales).
That's why they hired a transgender model, why former CMO Razek resigned... and maybe why they deleted old posts, because that could be a will to erase the past ("du passé, faisons table rase") in order to dive into the future.
So far, the media approve:
I think they are largely mistaken because:
- customer who buy apparels mostly care about.... apparels and how they make you look (that's why they used to say "Fantasy" is important)
- political stuff like these may appeal to half of the population... but not to the other half. So, that's a weird bet.
- media exposure fades out quickly
