There are elements of TNG that I like and I enjoy some of the individual episodes, but as an ongoing thing it just never really made much of an impression on me. Not sure why.

TNG is uneven. Some episodes are boring, some others are really good. Same for DS9,  there are episodes who seem "meh", but some others are just genius. The cast was great in both cases, it's the writing quality that varies.

They made a Picard show recently. The writing is awful (from A to Z), but the soundtrack is one of the best I know. The opening titles (both sound and image) are pure genius, but the magic wears off as soon as the episode starts...
