If it was where i think it was, there would've been news team to cover it, and seen, that's why i'm doubting myself since where i think it is is a fairly open space to the public, and i doubt they could get everyone (makeup etc.) without too much of a commotion

After seing the location, i think it's obvious she's in the run for the cover. But she's boring! I hope she doesn't get the cover.

Can't wait to see wich other girls shoot in that location, hope to see Hilary Rhoda or Cintia Dicker next

A model being photographed on the beach is as much of an indicator of her getting the cover as the model being photographed in a bikini.

Julie is about as plain as Bar was... or Brooklyn. What do those other two blonds have in common? Oh right, they got the cover. Generally speaking they shoot maybe 2-5 girls at the beach, and most of the covers for the swimsuit edition are featured where? Oh right, the beach.

Last 10 covers were,

2010 Brooklyn on the beach

2009 Bar on the beach

2008 Marisa on the beach

2007 Beyonce on the beach

2006 All Stars on the beach

2005 Carolyn on the beach

2004 Veronica on the beach

2003 Petra on the beach

2002 Yamila on the beach

2001 Elsa questionable, but most likely the beach

And it keeps going, all beaches.

In 2008 they had 8-9 girls at the beach, however 5 were rookies, so discounting them (as they wouldn't have gotten the cover) that leaves you with the magic 4-5 number of potential models filmed at the beach. So yes... Julie being a veteran, filmed at the beach and one of maybe 4 or 5 girls who'll have their pics taken at beach... well it's easy to say she's in the running for the cover.

SI might do something other then the beach this year, but it's highly unlikely.

Can anyone shed any light on why some girls are "one-and-done" for SI? There's a bunch of girls, like Yasmeen Ghauri ('95), Rachel Roberts (early 2000's), and Ana Paula Araujo (a few years ago) who I for one just adored, but who never came back in later issues. Did they just not catch on with the SI viewing public? I can't imagine a girl not wanting to do SI, unless she just wanted to do high fashion or something, and Yas did tons of VS subsequently, so that can't be the reason for her.
