dear Lord... *sigh* that is a picture from her vacation, nothing official. Calm down.
Well that's one of the 2 pics visible where's she's smoking. The top right also shows her smoking. Now I agree they should be able to do what they want in their own time, but taking a modeling shoot in which she is visibly smoking is something society in itself should not encourage.
Something like models previously being underweight too much, after social pressure they adapted these rules so that models were forced to be of at least of normal weight if they wanted to do catwalks.
Something likewise should also be done with regards to smoking.

Oh, please. Aranka, people should start to think for themselves, not repeat what celebs or models do. I don´t give a shit if some model smokes or not, if she´s underweight or not, if she drives a car, buys only Gucci and drinks from goblet of fire with harry potter... I do what is good for myself and always has 
Modeling is kind of art. In art, there are no restrictions, and I hope there will never be. No limits, no "you can´t this and that". I hope you get what I´m writing

And with regards to what you wrote. I partly agree and partly disagree. Yes, people who are confident and rational will not adjust their behaviour on people who they see as role models (kind of a nice wordplay there but oke) and stay true to themselves. But having said that is overly simplifying reality, a lot of people are not so rational to see it's just an image and or are not secure enough about themselves. They then go look for inspiration to others, people who they deem to be succesfull/pretty whatever. In order to protect these people, and this group is actually the majority of our population, some general guidelines and restrictions should be inplaced.
Furthermore, modelling for a clothing brand is not art really. There's an aspect of it to it, but in the truest sense of it...it's just pure cold business.
