Favorite. Top ten. Seriously. Top ten.
Phil is it my old and tired LCD screen, or did you push blacks in that? I'm looking at the version I had seen before, which I think is Zothike's. But I can see gathering in the fabric around her hip in that previous one. Is it just my old (weak) LCD or did you push blacks? (that's NOT a complaint, of course! I have the same problem when I try to order photo prints online -- contrast and black are WAYYY, WAYYYY off compared to best attempts with my screen. Wish for inexpensive color calibration.)
Sorry to hear about the fires down your way. ![]()

Sorry to hear about the fires down your way.
I usually tweak the contrast a bit (via curves) and I just compared that pic to the original page. The couple of small fabric folds (that are only just visible on the printed page) are still visible on my calibrated 23" Cinema Display. At about 50% of the original.
Thanks for your thoughts re the fires. While some are about 30k away from me (and don't look like being too much of a worry) those down in Victoria have obviously been pretty horrific.

Figured that was likely. I'm using an old, tired LCD (with a little bleed at the corner), and it tends to crush fine shadow detail. ![]()
Do appreciate your going to that extra trouble and checking, though. Thanks for that. ![]()
