I guess you could make a strong case that America's influence on culture and vocabulary over the last hundred years or so has been much greater than our own, but British English is the form which most variations have spawned from and I don't think American English has evolved to the point of being considered a standalone language. It's an interesting subject and one which I'll admit I don’t know all the answers to, but I wouldn't be at all surprised if in the near(ish) future there's a convergence towards a standardised form of English across the world. As a north-easterner, I'm not sure I have any right to discuss the English language anyway. One thing's for sure though, we owe you a debt of gratitude for taking Piers Morgan off our hands.

haha, I didn't get what Jennka wrote at first but I think she meant that HER bf likes Shakira too. And Shakira's bf of maaany many years is the son of Argentina's ex-president. I remember that when "Laundry Service" was released, it was banned in Argentina (or so I heard in tv news) because of the fact that Shakira's bf is that president's son... I guess he must have been awful. But I don't know anything more, although I'm pretty sure baron would be able to tell you more

It was all little 'Marie Antoinette' - and, unsurprisingly, the people turned on Shakira and the big record stores stopped selling her CDs!

Thankyou i've only been here a day but loving it so far!

The flight was dreadful though it was a 7 hour journey and we had like litle tv screens but it was always out of sync so i just read. we actually arrived at JFK airport 10 mins already BUT GUESS WHAT?! we had to sit on the runway for 4 HOURS! because of the snow and canceled flights that there was no gate avaliable...funny cause i thought New York would be able to cope with all this snow.

We are staying in the Hemsley hotel, its very expensive but my dad got a good deal on it, its beautifull...this is the view from outside my window

and I've been saving up for this trip for ages, with modeling money, bdaY money && xmas money and ive already spent tons i went to Barnes & Nobles <3 and bought like 6 new books,including that Crystal Renn one! and some makeup from Sephora, where one of the women who worked there asked me to be a "model" to show some customers how this new makeup brand works, i cant rmber the name buts its like a machoine and u attatch various pods and it comes out airbrushed its amazing, Beyonce even uses it apparently, my skin looked flawless but damn no way in hell am i paying $400 on makeup!

I bought some clothes from Forever21 including this cute t-shirt. im sorry for all you guys reading this its probs boring as hell, but omg how cute is this?!

You'd think that wouldn't you, but, no, it's been pretty rough on us New Yorkers for the past few days...

Go away for a week. No wifi. Dying to get back on BZ (I felt like I was being left out of some sort of loop). Come home. 84 e-mails. Most of them from BZ, the rest from facebook. Note-to-self: Never go away without wifi ever again.
