they are all lovely Jennka. I know it's expensive but, how about sterilize them? That will be less abandoned & killed kitten (by stupid people, or when they cross the road) Is the mom of the kitten your cat?

Sterilizing them would be of no real purpose. I mean - these are cats of our cottage. The history is something like this - we had there one cat, but she got lost (or died, who knows) and the increase of mice there was just unbearable. So our neighbours brought two little cats and taught them that THAT is their territory (one of them is the mother of the kittens displayed) so they´ve become somehow half-wild cats. They live their own wild life there, we only come there at weekends, they always know us, greet us, spend with us the whole weekend, when they have kittens they always brought them to us to show off and they also bring mice to show they catch them but when we leave for the whole week, they are absolutely independent from us. That´s why I´m saying they are half wild.

They have kittens, they losse kittens or bring them up, as the nature goes its own way... and because the cottage is more or less surrounded by wild nature, there is nothing like stupid people killing cats or cars killing cats... there are fields and woods and another cottages and trust me, every one of these people living there treasures cats, because they catch mice and other "vermins". Of course when one cat has a lot of kittens (like one had 8!! of them) our neighbours used to drown most of them when they found them and leave only 3 or 4 kittens, (which I did not like) but the cats learned to have babies elswhere (which I appreciate ) - e.g. in our cottage, where I won´t allow anyone to touch them or make them any harm :persuazn: I´m always saying "Leave it to the nature, please" and I fight really hard so the cats learned to have kittens in our cottage (in the unlocked rooms, under a roof) or absolutely elswhere. I always protect them, but only from people - I can´t protect them from nature (other cats, ilnesses, tomcats...) so I try to take it as it is.

I try to balance it... because we need the cats, and I seriously love them. Oh, no one dares to make something bad to MY kittens (I have a motor chainsaw and am not afraid to use it!!). And... it´s also a wonderful chance to watch nature in its´ purest sense.

So... that´s the story
