Stupid plot + Kit Harrington's bad acting is what will eventually ruin the show for me, I fear.

There's less than how many eps until the end of the series? We've only a handful left this season and a smattering for 8.  I'm not sure if anything will ruin it for me until the end credits of the last show. By then it will be too late.

Generally, the longer a show lasts, the more chances it has to disappoint at least some of the viewers. Some shows avoid this and some don't.

The thing is, the show wouldn't need to have such drastic changes. GRRM is literally writing a fucking book for almost 7 years and the showrunners have 6 months to write a damn season.

Something like that.  It's going to be another short season.  IIRC I've even heard that it's just 6

I just took a short look at this episode.  It's the buildup for the main event (episode 6 and 7)

I found the episode a bit on the stale side but I still enjoyed watching it.  

Gendry seems to have been forced into the show.  There isn't much reason for him to be there.
