The Game of Thrones prequel has begun filming.  IMHO I don't know what to make of it; besides Naomi Watts (lead) the rest are young unknowns.  Who cares about the WW now?

I’m very curious about how they got where they were at the beginning of the show, and all that stuff.

so am I (eg. Robert's Rebellion) but I anticipate some problems- the original GOT is seared in my head, and everybody's elses- so the older versions of Eddard Stark, Robert B., Greyjoy etc. are what I think of with these characters.  If the younger versions of theses characters are nothing like their classic counterparts then there would be a problem in coherence.

I think what they are filming now is a show set a very long time before the GoT era.

Yes. It's a prequel set in the Long Night period. So, many thousands of years before the events on GoT.

That seems to be the case. I got confused as a while ago I read an article that said that it was about Robert's Rebellion. 

There are supposedly 5!! prequels that are trying to be made...that's more than a bit ambitious.

Thinking a bit about the ending that makes the most sense (bittersweet and character arc fulfilling) to me:

-Bronn dies

- Dolorous Edd survives

-Lyanna Mormont survives

-Varys dies

-Beric dies

-Theon dies

-Jorah dies

-The NK destroyed at King's Landing

-King's Landing ruined by the army of the dead with a clutch win by the humans

-Melisandre commits suicide 

-All dragons die

-Dany dies

-Missandei and Greyworm die

-Dothraki get annihilated by the Army of the dead

-Unsullied are freed

-Golden company and Harry S. survive

-Euron dies

-Qyburn dies

-Hound survives

-Mountain dies

-Cersei dies

-Jaime survives
