2012 SI Swimsuit

I'm happy she's out, i always thought she didn't fit SI at all

Emanuela & Joan would be dreamy for SI, i dislike Damaris & Jessica White so much, i feel like SI could get a way better representation for black models -because just as VS you know they need their token girls- . Not sure about Daria & Lara though, remember that SI is mostly directed to average non-fashionista guys who like hot girls with a conventional beauty/sexiness, that's the reason why Marisa Miller, Brooklyn Decker & Kate Upton have been successful with SI.

If you look at the current cast there's tons of girls who do nothing 'major' outside SI: Jessica Gomes, Julie Henderson, Damaris Lewis, Genevieve Morton, Christine Teigen barely work outside SI. They need to step up their game with their models IMO

Jessica Gomes is a major model with celeb-status in South Korea and had her own TV show in there and appeared also in the Korean version of "Dancing with the stars". She appeared in tons of advertisements for LG and a brand calles Enprani which even created a lip gloss named after her. Just because it's not necessarily NY, Paris or Milan, it doesn't mean they don't do anything at all

I wouldn't say that only girls on the cover get exposure. Sure they get the most one but without SI, girls like Esti or Kate Upton wouldn't even be known or known with names. It wasn't until SI that Esti appeared in the movie Twelve. What I kinda think is unfair is the fact how they always promote some rookies more than others. Christine Teigen and Kate Upton have been pretty known already in their first year, so it sometimes seems to me they already appeared in SI for years, while others like the lovely Lucia Dvorska or Zoe Duchesne and Dominique Piek fell flat with making themselves household names

Hilary said she decided not to do this year because SI isn't used to be what represented but she deleted the tweet later

You all need to remember something: It doesn't matter how famous a model is in South Korea, China, Venezuela or Australia. SI is an american magazine, therefore if you're not famous/well-known in the US your chances of getting the cover a pretty much fucked up. Personally i would love Esti for the cover because I'm a fan of her but i know she isn't popular at all here in the US (yet she is super popular in her native Israel) so i know that her chances of getting the cover are pretty low.

SI wants to mainly appeal the american market, that's why while we love some girls (Kim Cloutier, Lucia D, etc) if they don't make a big splash here the chances are that they won't be back for another round

That's not a lot, they had six rookies in the past ... I think both 2009 & 2010 had six rookies. Keeping in mind that a lot of girls didn't come back this year it's normal they're having more rookies
