This video is the 1990's fashion model Karen Mulder.
For you which may have watched some fashion shows,
Karen was among that elite group which began the
thing called 'supermodels'. Karen Mulder was a
spell-binding dutch beauty and an immediate best
favourite for me, along with a canadian model named
Yasmeen Ghauri.
In the late 80's some Tv networks, like american CNN
show named 'Style' and canada's show 'Fashion Television'
began running fashion shows and this brought gorgeous
sexy 20ish models into our homes. Now, their faces and
names could be used to market a multitude of women's
products, and models began asking for and got very large
salaries. Supermodels were used for magazine covers and
editorials and tv ads, and Supermodel in effect meant
super profits for the corps. (though some years ago that
changed to using hollywood celebs instead...they have
'personality' and higher status.)
In my opinion, the original first supermodel was
Claudia Schiffer. For black women, Naomi Campbell.
(It's also interesting for us guys to note the mid-late
80's were also the beginning of a huge growth in the
women's lingerie industry. It was due in largest part
to the fashion industry having the most beautiful young
20ish models wear lingerie in their shows, and the
TV networks brought that top Q 'soft-core porn' into
our homes. Us guys went wild, and the ladies immediately
realised a little special 'gift-wrapping' made for a
much happier husband and boyfriend ! )
