I like that You like Karen
Have you heard about the story which was in the newspapers three or five years ago, when she said she was raped at a party of prince albert of monacco? I've never heard if it was true or not or what has happened to her afterwards. Did she had some psychological problems or what was it about?I was feeling very sad for her as she was so gorgeous in her prime.
When she said that she was in the middle of a nervous breakdown. She later said Prince Albert did not rape her and she apologized to him and he said he forgave her. She has had some serious psychological problems in the past. I am sure working in the modeling industry did not help.

We'll never know what exactly happend and what is the truth ![]()

You are right about that. But I definitely believe Karen was abused by someone at some point and that is probably the root of her problems.

^ yeah, me too! There's something in there, definitely!
Among all the models of the nineties Karen has always seemed one of the most balanced and gentle,She was much loved by fashion professionals for this, but I believe that also the general public understood her kind-quite shy- personality(if a model could be described as "almost shy") .
However it is known that certain problems may occur even in apparently very quiet people-I think that something has triggered her illness.
I try to remember her as it was in its heyday---I miss Karen, her step on the runway--- She has given us a lot of beauty
.

Shame, I look at Karen's problems differently.
She went from a normal, dark haired gangly, girl with braces into the model world.
She had a very mediocre start to her career but when she grew her hair out and bleached it blonde - she was an instant hit and her career sky rocketed at an unprecedented pace.
For many years she was the undisputed glamour queen of the supermodels. Think after the supermodel hype - her career died (late 1997'ish) and she just could not handle that. It must be so difficult going from fame to relative obscurity overnight.
She tried to stay in the spotlight with a music career which bombed too.
It must have been so difficult for her to watch her colleagues continue with successful -after "supermodeling" careers- but she had nothing to fall back on.
I would have probably also started looking at my face and thinking how to change it (the plastic surgery) and turning to drugs and alcohol to avoid the sadness of missing my "previous life"
BUT WHO KNOWS WHAT THE TRUTH IS ACTUALLY... maybe it is just that she has bad management compared to the other girls

I do not think the way you see the problem is very different from mine. maybe bad management has weighed heavily in this story.
I agree that it must be so difficult for a very famous model to go from the height of success and fame, back to relative obscurity. Paulina has talked about how difficult it has been for her to age and lose the attention she once had. But Karen's problems have been so extreme. That is why it leads me to believe there must have been some abuse in her past. Or perhaps, she is bipolar or has some other chemical imbalance that was not diagnosed. She seems to be more fragile than other models have been. Hopefully, she is getting the proper help she has needed and can find some peace of mind.

I think the same like Fender ![]()
To me, she really was so fragile and I think naive. I really believe people around her abuse and exploit her. It seems like she wanted and searched for true friendship and love, but she didn't find them. She was unstable, that's for sure, and all that destroyed her, imo ![]()

Dear friends,we face with the mysteries of human nature, difficult thing to do
Bipolar disorder, for example, cited by Kelly, was the problem that has destroyed the jazz great Jaco Pastorius, that every lovers of jazz music knows.
I want to stress that certain things are not happening only in the fashion world.

That is so true! So many creative people though out history have suffered from this disease. But, thankfully now we have medication and therapy to deal with this. It is just a matter of the person being diagnosed early enough to be treated.
I also think that Karen could make a comeback as a singer because her voice is very good. If she is getting the proper treatment, it is possible. The question is, would she want to?
