o.0 there are no words for some of the women that are being nominated.. none.

I know right, I cracked up laughing when I saw a couple of them.

So it is because you do not name anyone?

^^ exactly what I thought!

To me elegance is in the attitude not in the clothes.

But that's a good idea Sagitario and I agree with Theron

End of the competition now! Charlize is the winner!

Attitude is essential but that requires a lot of up close & personal due diligence! Appearances do count! In life!

well clothes count in our society because u can't go out naked (even if some so call celebrities are half naked on the red carpet) but some women are elegant even naked. As an example i would say Dita Von Teese.

To me appearances do not count. But it's my way to see things in MY life.

I think it's really difficult to tell if a person is elegant unless one receives the opportunity to really know them..so it's a holistic question of character, personality, charisma, and appearance. I think that a lot of the women mentioned here have succeeded in appearing elegant-at least in the context of short term contact- but whether or not they truly are I will probably never know.

Edita Vilkeviciute can look elegant but as a 22 year old girl she is less likely to be so than some of the others mentioned.

Yes but i will never know them personally so i only can judge them by what i see in magazines or TV.

So I'm going to inquire even though it's been thrown out there. We're judging these women on their elegance based on a series of pictures correct? Not on a series of behavioral patterns they have shown, or on the premise that when they open their mouth common decorum and/or common sense generally flies out the window? Not so much in the face of a lot of the actors, but more so in regards to the vast majority of the models?

Because if that's the case I'd like to nominate Kim Kardashian who's couth and common sense can be called into contention but who's fashion sense, (sans shoes) is for the most part spot on and quite elegant.

Yes, yes I know she wont go anywhere however I feel like I should contribute something other then the occasional biased opinion that I normally do.

I accept suggestions for this competition, if you want to introduce other categories, whatever, to make it fairer and more pleasant for everyone

I really think Sagitario was talking about the fashion elegance. If it was the elegance in their behavior or the "elegance of the heart" as we say in France, 50 % of the women nominated will be already out before to even star the competition!
