I always found her a little too skinny for my liking, and although her face is pretty, she looks weird in a lot of shots I've seen of her.

It's not that I disliked her. She is alright, but she'll never make it into my top ten.

Louise Brooks is one of the most beautiful women ever, imho. She had an effortless class that most, if not all of our contemporary actresses lack.

Those pictures don't do her any justice, btw. She looks even more endearing in motion.

i'm sorry but the reason why those "old" actresses are seen as classy and classic is only the black and white AND the style (clothes, hair and make up) that was in fashion at that time... Nothing to do with themselves personally, me thinks

As Amélie, her appearance is enchanting, but whereas Amélie (tries to) improve(s) the lives of the people she encounters, Lulu only causes pain, misery, and ultimately, the demise of the people who are attracted to her.

As for your first point, I disagree. Try to watch the clip and tell me if you ever saw someone the camera loved more than Louise Brooks? There's plenty of actresses of the b&w era I don't like.

Amelie's haircut is a lot more messed up than louise so i don't think they were going for her look
