That picture wasn't mine so I'm not sure what the issue was I simply google searched it and pulled it up.
The blogger, who goes by the handle Pink Couture, posted a snapshot of the cover to a forum on The Fashion Spot Friday, and it almost instantaneously spread across the web. It helped (or hurt, depending on your point of view) that the cover girl, for the second year running, is viral sensation Kate Upton.
I had no luck locating Pink Couture’s real-life identity beyond tracing it back to this Live Journal page, where he or she frequently posts content about models and fashion.

So if Kate has 11 pages and was the only model who went to the Antarctica, i'm calling BS on SI & Kate not knowing about the cover ... Looks obvious to me that they had planned all allong to put her in the cover

And thanks God Jess Pérez is back, i knew it was her after giving those pictures a good look plus her reply when i asked her about it made think she was in

SI isn't screaming they have much faith in the current crop of veterans if they had to plan the shoot 8-9 months in advance which leads me to believe none of these current girls (excluding the rookies) have much of a chance at the cover unless they seriously up their "appeal" to the masses or get as well known as Kate. The only other way I can see a cover happening is if SI is in a pinch and they don't have a go to gal for the year.
Alright I've been up almost 24 hours, going to bed. Will resume with the scans/edits later. Can't wait to get your impressions Monday of the pics.

Looks like it, they didn't even bother on taking Nina, Anne, Alyssa or anyone to what obviously was meant to be the cover location so clearly they had no intentions to put anyone else on the cover
I'm not a Kate Upton basher, I even quite like her.
So I don't have any problems with her getting the cover.
I do have a problem with her cover being quite horrendous.
The one last year was far from great, but this year's is so terrible that you'd almost believe they are trying to ruin their own swimsuit issue?

So, seeing the list, technically there's no South America on the issue.
Though Easter Island is chilean territory, it's so far away from the continent that I wouldn't call it South America.
Easter Island is usually listed as part of Oceania here, as it is a polynesian island.

Yeah Macchu Picchu was far more interesting and representative of our continent, having Easter Island representing South America is like having the Malvinas representing Europe

I seriously can't believe they didn't even try to get Petra, Elsa, Yamila, Elle or any of their past girls back for this. This may be better than 2012 and most of their recent issues but still i feel like it won't be anything huge like we were expecting
