I think SI/SE will be around in some incarnation for a long while, it's a very recognizable brand. The SE in particular has an advantage because it's a yearly publication instead of monthly.
I think everybody knows that things will have to move digital, as they already are. The problem is that mags and newspapers haven't found a great way to make money online. When there are big bucks at stake for large corporations, people tend to get creative, so I can see a solution forming eventually.
But yeah, they better move fast, because magazines are already outdated and people are moving toward self published, self made fame. Look at Jen Selter, who is just some chick on instagram and already more famous than a lot of SI models...
