I still like Nina and Kate's chances better.
If it's a newcomer, then Emily probably has the best cards. Though if one of the other newcomers has an epic shoot, there is no reason why they couldn't get it either.

having a rookie get the cover is not unprecedented. heidi klum and tyra banks both appeared on the cover their first years. it just didn't happen during diane smith's reign from 1999-2012. actually, it wasn't until diane smith that the concept of 'rookies' vs 'veterans' was introduced. before that, they were just...you know, models.
at this point i think emily might be a safer bet than kate. the marginal benefit of the press attention surrounding a three-peat is small compared to a repeat cover. if they want press, it's been shown that ms. ratajkowski can drum that up pretty well.
in fact, that mirror,mirror suit would look pretty great on a magazine rack. SI 'reflecting' on 50 years. a man can dream...
I'm really feeling the line so far for this issue.

Tyra wasn't on the cover her first year in the issue. She started in 1993. Cover in 1996. Since the 70s, the only models to get the cover their first year in the magazine are Judit Masco, Daniela Pestova, Valeria Mazza, and Heidi Klum. And I guess Beyonce, if you include her. I never really do.

I would like for Emily R to get the cover her body is incredible, & more biutiful than Kate. Is Alyssa not going to be in the 2014 issue?
Middle picture does look like Barnard. They even have her arm covering the big mole underneath her left breast.

looks like another rookie. glad they're changing it up a bit more this year.
I've lost count of how many rookies we've seen already. I don't like it, i feel like it takes away some of the exclusivity of it, this year they had four and it worked out just great.
