Johnny Depp Covers 'Vanity Fair' January 2011
Johnny Depp hits the cover of the January 2011 issue of Vanity Fair.
Here is what the 47-year-old Tourist actor had to share with the mag:
On the media attention on his co-star Angelina Jolie: “Poor thing, dogged by paparazzi, her and her husband, Brad…all their kids. There are times when you see how ridiculous is this life, how ludicrous it is, you know, leaving your house every morning and being followed by paparazzi.”
Comparing Angelina to a legend: “I’ve had the honor and the pleasure and gift of having known Elizabeth Taylor for a number of years. You know, you sit down with her, she slings hash, she sits there and cusses like a sailor, and she’s hilarious. Angie’s got the same kind of thing, you know, the same approach.”
On the appeal of his character in The Tourist: “I was always fascinated by people who are considered completely normal, because I find them the weirdest of all.”

Pirates of the Caribbean 4 Trailer 2011 HD

Model Claims Johnny Depp Wooed Her on 'Pirates' Set
Johnny Depp's long-term relationship with Vanessa Paradis seems as rock-solid as any Hollywood romance, but new allegations against the 'Alice in Wonderland' star may shatter all that.
In a new interview with Star, 19-year-old model Kristen Stephenson-Pino says that Depp tried to win her over on the set of 'Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides.'
Stephenson-Pino claims Depp lavished attention on her, calling her "exquisite" and telling her "you're by far the most beautiful girl I've ever seen," before inviting her back to his trailer.
"It was one-on-one," she says. "I was in there for a few hours, and that's, like, everyone's ideal lover boy. He's just the whole package!"
In the issue, on newsstands today, an on-set source says, "The wardrobe department needed to make the perfect breast model for the voluptuous mermaid costumes," for which Stephenson-Pino was chosen. The source claims that Depp eagerly looked on while the model undressed, telling Star, "He watched them do the molds."
Stephenson-Pino, who has been dating pro surfer Torrey Meister for the past year, says that despite her relationship, she would joke with Depp about being intimate. "I was like, 'I'll take you and Orlando Bloom! That's the only way you can get me,'" she says. "He starts laughing and goes, 'Honey, no, no, no, no. I don't share with anybody. You either get me or me, and that's it.'"
According to the model, even after filming moved back to LA, Depp still tried to get in contact with her and asked the film's casting directors to fly her out to the set. Says the source, "Johnny's motivations were more than clear! He wanted her with him."
Depp and Paradis have been together for 12 years and have two children, Lily-Rose, 11, and Jack, 8.

Johnny Depp talks 'Lone Ranger' reboot
Johnny Depp is still planning to star in Disney's planned big screen version of "The Lone Ranger," he tells EW exclusively.
"I think it's going to be good, when we have a chance to put it up on its feet," says Depp of the project, The actor will play the role of Tonto in the project, which is being produced by Jerry Bruckheimer with original "Pirates of the Caribbean" director Gore Verbinski attached to helm. "What we've got so far screenplay-wise is really great, really funny."
Depp, who is part Cherokee, feels a special connection to the role of Tonto.
"I always felt Native Americans were badly portrayed in Hollywood films over the decades," he says. "It's a real opportunity for me to give a salute to them. Tonto was a sidekick in all the Lone Ranger series. [This film] is a very different approach to that partnership. And a funny one I think."
