But it's - I think - the best I've donde so far, be it in terms of the actual performance and the mixing and overall sound achieved.
Of course it wouldn't have been possible without the 2 amazing collaborations I had for this video: my friends who wrote the drums track, and played piano and keyboards (plus backing vocals).
So, this is a song by DREAM THEATER, from their concept album "Metropolis Pt. 2: Scenes From a Memory"
THE SPIRIT CARRIES ON
I hope you like it!
And allow me to tag you all because I insist this is the best cover video I've done so far and I'm unusually happy and proud of the final result.

I liked it, you could be their lead singer.
I don't much particularly care for their vocalists anyway.

They definitely don't seem to half ass.
I figured that a lot of work had to have gone into it seeing as how it seems like a lot of work for any type of song. On the opposite side of the spectrum, I need to take another listen to that rockability number you did. Speaking of instruments though, I was curious what people from your part of the pond and you yourself think of the accordion. I find it to be really hit or miss in that it either sounds great or terrible with no middle ground.
Oh, Dream Theater goes all in in terms of complexity most of the time, but they do it with great taste.
About the accordion it depends on how you use it. Over here it's widely used in some folkloric genres. It's very common to hear it in some kinds of Cueca for example.
Crossing the Andes, in Argentina they use a lot the bandoneon, which is kinda a "brother instrument" to the accordion. In most tangos you'll hear a bandoneon.
I personally like their sound.

Thank you!!
Well, poor LaBrie is always the one who gets the most negative comments and jokes out of Dream Theater members

Wishlist: Def Leppard - Women

Oh, I'll see what I can do. I'm not a big fan of Def Leppard Hysteria-onwards. Though I love their earlier albums.
Women is a good song though! Would be a challenge in terms of arrangement and production.
In the meantime, I've done some Def Leppard already:

Okay gotcha! I just really like the song and know you would ace it!
Listened, loved (liked) and added to my playlist.

It's a good song. It doesn't sound easy though.
Glad you liked it!
That's one of my favorite songs by them and that album (High and Dry) is, for me, by far the best Leppard record.

You had me at High and Dry. 💜
is it bad that I really didn’t like Steve’s replacement, Viv?

Not at all!
I'd actually go even further and say that I prefer Pete Willis to Phil Collen. And I may be wrong but I can't help getting the feeling that Leppard began turning to pop once Collen arrived.

Hmmm. Sad that Pete was “let go” because of his drinking, if I remember right, and it’s what killed Steve.
I know they started leaning towards a more commercial sound then. Hard for me today that Phil is/was the driving force behind the shift because that’s about the time MTV exploded and thus the more accessible forms of hard rock and metal started appearing on the new platform.

Yes... alcohol is to blame for losing both original Def Leppard guitarists

Oh, it could be that too.
I just can't help to notice the correlation, but of course I could be wrong. In any case, Collen is an amazing guitarist, easily up there with the best.
