As you can see, this year's Sports Illustrated Swimsuit issue cover comes this close to showing model Hannah Davis' nether regions. Regardless of whether you're a fan of the pose or not, there's something to be said about this cover and its connection to a larger theme developing in pop culture this year—that would be vaginas...

Also How is this any "sluttier" than these?   A lot of the girls posed the exact same way Rose did. (In other shots as well.)

It would be cool if we could all make our own 'dream covers' with our fave pics from this issue. If I was an editor, hands down Nina would have gotten the cover. Gigi and Emrata were close seconds. Not only is this memorable, but she looks sexy and is also doing the 'pull down' like on Hannah's cover, albeit in a tasteful, in control way. The colors also pop a lot better.

Man the photoshopping this year was horrendous. But I LOVED the locals, except for the shots from Hawaii, not the biggest fan of those.

Some standouts:

Hannah D (loved her location)

Ashley Smith (the ultimate plot twist of the SI thread after everyone hating on Ashley.  photos are turn out amazing )

Solveig (again lovely shoot, the location was perfect)

Nina (just slays)

Samantha Hoopes 

Girls I'm not so sure about:

Kelly (I like her alot, but not a fan of all the upward shots on her face, not flattering)

Hailey Clauson (As much as I love this girl I have never been a huge fan of her body. Its not that shes curvy its that she doesn't have a waist. Her face was ON POINT in all her pics though)

Erin (thought she would be good but face fell flat. Great body tho)

All the other girls were pretty meh, no feelings either way towards their pics

On the subject of "dream covers" and seeing a lot of strong opinions here and elsewhere about these issues, I thought about starting a thread where every user just "designs" their own Swimsuit issue.

Lay down some ground rules to keep it from becoming a total free for all (or a carbon copy of VS swim), then vote at the end. But I've been too busy to actually draw it up. 

Examples of a ground rule might be... no rookies who didn't make it getting another chance. Which would rule out one of my favorites, Catrinel Menghia. Models who once appeared, but stopped, not returning (like Bar or Kate). An upper limit on the number of rookies/replacements (so as to discourage folks from replacing everyone with their own personal top 15), nobody who might broadly fall under the category of "if they were going to do it, they'd have done it by now," etc.

And if I were desperate for ratings this would have been my cover  :brows:

I don't know why the editors of the Hawaii pictures decided to HDR everything. That's why the girls look terrible in that shoot. I was looking through Gigi and Emily D's shots and noticed the HDR. That is hideos. You don't do HDR on people. You do it to make landscape shots pop. Not when the model is the focus. It makes the skin look very orange. And it makes too much contrast. That's why those shots turned out really bad. No idea what the fuck they were doing.

It's begun.
