My passport expired a couple of months ago and I'm still waiting for the new one to arrive, so I haven't really been able to go too far afield this summer. I really wanted to visit Barcelona (I even bought a CD and book so I could learn some Spanish) but I think it'll have to wait until October now. What about you, planning any more trips?

The weather's been as random as ever. The good thing is that if you don't like the look of it, you only have to wait about 20 mins for it to change For the last two nights we've had heavy rain with thunder and lightning, but today it's sunny

I write and translate for several magazines and blogs in Buenos Aires. Mainly it's North Americans and Europeans who want their fashion-store/bar/website promoted in local dialect or vice versa. But I do get to write some more substantial pieces from time to time (but not nearly enough!).

I'd hire you, but frankly there's not enough work for me to make my fortune - I don't want any more competition than I've already got. But if you like payment in restaurant meals and long nights of free drinks then I heartily recommend it! (Y)

Anyhow, I find myself hanging around here more and more lately - but Spring is coming. I hope things pick up. For us both...

As for Spring, well probably not. My dear old mama is British, and I tend to go and spend Christmas with her each year over in the UK if I can - so it's a long slog until December now... Then again December/January is stupidly hot, stuffy and thoroughly unpleasant here, so it's a nice time to get out. And I kind of like the UK all happy and pretty with lights, mulled wine, and mince pies. Plus presents!!!

How about you? I suppose it's not quite so seasonal where you are..? Need to escape the stifling public transport system? We had snow here in the Olde Winter of '06 and the city went damn crazy. (It's already passed into legend: Where were you in mid-July '06? Tell me some tales... )

I might visit my bf and his family in CO after the holidays. Not sure yet It is pretty "seasonal" where I am...hehehehe I actually don't mind public transit, but at times it can be quite irritating

Thanks! I was a bit nervous about whether or not you'd like it, since you obviously know your stuff. I'm still not always that confident about a lot of my work - if I manage to do something that people like, it's more a feeling of relief than anything else

BTW, I've been meaning to ask since you're Chinese, is there anything in Chinese food better than orange chicken :| :drool: ?! Wowsers :| . If there is I must have it . I'm generally one to try new foods but everytime I get the chance its hard to not just get it .

hey PC, still rockin' your beautiful set i see..awesome. since food is being discussed i could not help myself i personally luv these: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rice_noodle_roll whenever i visit Atlanta or Toronto (cannot get them in my town). i luv shrimp & beef ones. when we do dim sum i think it scares my family how many of them i order & systematically eradicate. my town only has the formula take-out 'restaurants'.
