Well, that's the common reaction to it  

In general I don't like it either, but I do find it extremely interesting (not all of it though) from a more academic point of view.

I was surprised that I did actually like that second piece by Penderecki. Weird and all it still has musicality to it. Same as solo viola piece I listened to yesterday.
