One of spring’s most pronounced trends was the triumphant return of the platform shoe. And whenever a trend comes full circle, it seems appropriate to track its origin. The first fashion platforms were developed in the early 1930s by Moshe [Morris] Kimmel for Marlene Dietrich and again slightly later by Salvatore Ferragamo for Judy Garland. There have since been other resurgences: in the 1970s (you couldn’t quite last all night on the dance floor at the disco in a stiletto) and again in the ’90s, to which designer Vivienne Westwood has been accredited.
But the latest, biggest moment for platforms is right now. The season’s decidedly ’70s movement calls not only for the height, but for the substantiality that only the platform can give to skirts and wide-leg pants alike. Here, we revisit the trend with our favorite current versions from spring, by Ferragamo, Saint Laurent, Miu Miu, Prada, and more.

Correct me if I'm wrong, I don't really pay attention to her, but I think this is her (Blanca Padilla) for VS? It at least looks like her.
