As the title says, lets post song that sound similar to some other. I'm not necessarily talking about plagiarism here, though it might be in some cases. But songs that at least coincidentally share some similarities in melody, harmony or such with some other work.

I'll start with this song from Rival Sons' first album:

Pocketful of Stones

This band owes a lot of it's sound to Led Zeppelin, but that song in particular sounds a lot like these 2:

Houses of the Holy

And

Dancing Days

This is quite a well known song by Deep Purple:

Child in Time

Which is suspiciously similar to this song by It's Beautiful Day

Bombay Calling

Actually, Deep Purple guitarist Ritchie Blackmore admits that he "borrowed" Bombay Calling's main riff to write Child in Time.

These 2 songs are by Stevie Ray Vaughan, and the funny fact here is that both songs are actually in the same album (Texas Flood)

Pride and Joy

I'm Crying

Just heard this song by Testament

And it immediately reminded me of this one by Black Sabbath

I remembered this one a couple of days ago:

Stained Class - Judas Priest (1978)

Death From Above - Anthrax (1984)

Oh, and since we're talking Judas Priest, another one:

Running Wild - Judas Priest (1978)

The Wicker Man - Iron Maiden (2001)

(Actually it's just part of the main riff, but that little part it's pretty much the same  )

Same drummer, same year

Judas Priest - Starbreaker

David Coverdale (soon to be Whitesnake) - Lady

Both from 1977, both with drummer Simon Philips

Is it only my idea or chorus of "Bon Jovi - You Give Love A Bad Name " sounds pretty much like chorus of "Bonnie Tyler - If You Were A Woman" ??

Blatant copy-paste case:

Chuck Berry "Sweet Little Sixteen"

The Beach Boys - Surfin' USA

^ That one is an absolutely shameless copy

And again, Rival Sons demonstrating how much they owe to Led Zeppelin

Rival Sons strike again:

Part of the intro reminds me a lot of this song by Pink Floyd

While the end is suspiciously similar to the middle section of this one, again by Pink Floyd

Chuck Berry was ripped of by The Beach Boys, but he wasn't completely innocent either:

The origin of one of Rock n' Roll defining guitar riffs:

Led Zeppelin stole SO MUCH old Blues on their first couple of albums...

It even starts with the same lyrics and a suspiciously similar riff

Which also has a phrase (the "Lemon" part) taken from here:

Credit to @Limerlight for reminding me of this.

This Tom Petty's song spawned no one but 2 similar songs:

The most obvious:

And:

(In The White Stripes defense I once made a pretty much identical riff without having heard either this song or Tom Petty's before, so I guess is not that hard an idea to come by  )
