Victoria's Secret Fashion Show 2014 (GENERAL DISCUSSION)

People are complaining on Twitter about how people are hating on the vsfs and should not watch it if they're going to be negative about it.

First of all, in order to have an opinion about the show, you need to watch it.  You're going to read negative and positive feedback regardless of where you read it and or from who says it.

That's like saying you don't like a certain food or person without trying it or getting to know them.

I thought the show was a  bit underwhelming. I loved a lot of the outfits this year and the cast and segment themes were nice, but the music just drugged the energy and show down and the editing did no favors either. Taylor wasn't that bad, but they focused on her and little friendship with Karlie and Lily way too much. I liked that Ed and Hozier stood to the side and were out of the models way and allowed them to shine, but they and ther msucic just didn't fit. Ariana was suprsingly the best perfomrer this year. She had good energy and interaction with the models and her and pefomers stayed out of the way for the most part.

Maria, Adriana, Cindy, Sara, Ale, Joan, and suprisingly Lindsay were the standouts for me. They gave the best energy without overdoing it and interected with the performers well.

Idk if it was the editing and/or if she was just nervous but Elsa didn't really live up to the hype this year, but she looked amazing and homegirl arguably had the best body in the show imo. Stella was only showed like 2 second at the end of the runway on bother her walks and Karlie who I usually like was just DOING THE MOST this year on the runway.

All and all the show wasn't terrible, but it could have been way better. It seemed like all the girls were bored/drained and the music didn't help. Angel Ball was my favorite segment, but even that was a little messy editing wise and like somebody else said they could have panned to all the girls standing at the end and made the opening a little more better. PINK was also a nice. The outfits weren't that tragic this year and just about all the girls did good. It would be nice to see Ming, Yumi, or even taylor become the new PINK girl.

I really thought the show lacked some energy this year. It was the music, I think. Also the editing made me feel like I might go into a seizure! What is the point of those poor girls killing themselves to get those bodies that VS wants and only get 2 seconds or less screen time?! The make-up made some of the girls look like they were very ill. It's sad show when PINK was the best segment. I loved most all the looks in Fairy tale, but again the editing ruined it for me. I can't believe Maud, Yumi and some others were cast over Toni and Maryna!  :yuckky:  I wasn't impressed for something that was supposed to be super hyped and amazing. I really did love Blanca, though. It's a shame Taylor walked right in front of her stride! Taylor ruined this show. Karlie was kissing her ass so much her nose is probably brown. It made me so sick.  :yuckky:  I am so sad about Douzten leaving VS she was one of the only classic beauties left! 

Bryan, I read that as well and it makes me like Ariana even more!  I mean, we all know she's dating Big Sean haha...it's a funny and unexpected joke.

Devon is the biggest surprise for me. She was stunning in this show. I never paid much attention to her until now

My Favorite is still Bregje although i am not surprised by what she brought because she is totally capable of wowing people. Just wished VS would give her more chances than just one outfit.

Barbra impressed me too. I used to think her eyes are too wide and scary looking but she looked very good at the show.

Elsa looks stunning but I am not sold on her yet as angel. She does not speak as well as LIly or Karlie

This years show was better than last years, so I'm gonna keep it short.

Totally agree with the music makes the show less energetic

The white tree in the middle of the runway during the Fairy Tale segment reminds me a lot of Waiting For Godot by Samuel Beckett (which is english literature), so I think at least this is something England-related and I appreciate it! xD

Btw, I'm so sorry about Doutzen.. I wanted to see her wearing the Fantasy Bra first and then leaving.

Here to echo everyone else's sentiments.. Taylor was way too much in this show (and I'm a fan of hers). She almost made it feel a bit porny at times, I was cringing. Ariana is a great brand fit and perfect for Pink. Ed was good too, I didn't mind that he sang a slow song. Hozier was kind of random.. I feel like that should have got a band instead..

Model notes

Magda - 100% standout in the show, she makes everything look so expensive

Josephine - have always loved her since meeting her backstage her first show season, such a sweet personality and that body   she's a great Pink girl

Jourdan - way underrated, make her an angel!

Karlie - looked terrible in this show, she has 0 natural charisma... someone at IMG must have been campaigning hard for her to get her wings cos she just seems like such a weird brand fit to me.. 

Bregje - she'll definitely be one to watch in future years, Candice 2.0

Jac - hope she'll graduate from Pink next time, she has one of the best bodies in the lineup

Maria Borges - she's incredible, brings an old school supermodel vibe

Kasia - love Kasia but miscast much? 

Taylor Hill - was expecting more from her in this show but I think with a bit more confidence she'll be great

Sui He - gorgeous!

Ming - prefer her for HF stuff.. but she did look cute

Lily D - she is always so blah in this show!! I love her but she has 0 presence

I have a question, why hasn't Frida G walked the show since 2012? Do VS not like her or is she not interested? She seems to be focusing on mostly commercial work nowadays so it seems odd to me that she hasn't been cast since

How did Hozier try and take over the whole show? o.o He stood towards the back of the runway off to the side taking up minimal space while your fav Ariana walked in the middle of the runway with dancers...

If anything it was Ariana by her presence and spacial usage who was trying to take over the show, not the solo cute hipster dude

I think Joan is amazing. She had the best two walks in the show. Finally they gave her a really good look with Angel Ball. Her looks since she made her debut haven't been amazing. But this one was her best look and walk. And I love that her walk was focused on in AB and it was strong. Reminded me of the good old days. If I was VS she would be who I invest my time in for Angel instead of Lais or Jasmine. But like I've said before VS only want one or two established girls. They prefer to create their girls but the last few just haven't been working. Just go and hire girls who are already top models VS. Even though I'm sure that will cost them more.
