Ronaldo To Return Before November – Physio

The physiotherapist treating crocked Milan star Ronaldo, says that he could return to the football field before November of this year.

The career of El Fenomeno was believed to be in doubt after he severed a tendon in his knee against Livorno in February.

After a successful operation in Paris, it was revealed that he would be out of action for at least nine months, although a more likely return date was said to be in 2009.

However Ronaldo’s rehabilitation is said to be going brilliantly and he is so far ahead of schedule that he could return to playing before November.

"The daily work is divided into two phases,” explained Bruno Mazziotti.

“In the morning he goes to the clinic for physiotherapy, and in the afternoon he is at home. He has seven days a week without rest.”

The healing of Ronaldo’s lesion should be completed within one or two months. Then the star will start running and cycling.

In July he will start the final phase, which should make it possible to return to football in November.

"As things are going, the recovery time could be shorter,” said a confident Mazziotti.

“The latest tests are encouraging, but it's too early to say with certainty."

Flamengo Set For Ronaldo Talks

Flamengo president Marcelo Braga will meet with Ronaldo's representative Fabiano Farah at a lunch meeting on Thursday.

Braga goes into the meeting with an open mind and ready to listen to what Farah will propose, but it is known that Flamengo are keen on Ronaldo playing for the club once he returns from injury, even if it is just a short spell to regain full fitness before going back to AC Milan.

"I will go to the lunch to hear what they have to say. Perhaps they want Ronaldo to play for Flamengo. If that is the case then that would be excellent," Braga told Globo Esporte.

Ronaldo has been using Flamengo's medical facilities as the starts the rehabilitation process that will hopefully have him back to fitness at some point in early 2009, and has stated to the press that he would like to play for the club, although he conceded that the negotiations could be complicated.

O Fenômeno was present at the Maracanã to witness Flamengo's Taça Rio semi-final with Botafogo this past Sunday, and seeing the crowd reaction to his presence has made Braga even more determined to get him playing in the famous black and red at some point next year.

Ronaldo’s Physiotherapist Impressed By Improvement

Physiotherapist Bruno Mazziotti was positively impressed by Ronaldo’s improvements 65 days after the Brazilian suffered a terrible injury..

Ronaldo is making huge steps forwards, according to Mazziotti, who has been working with the player following his umpteenth injury - one which almost jeopardized his career.

The latest developments seem to indicate that the player is recovering well and rapidly, and this could be very good news for the Brazilian striker.

"The echo graph has shown big step forwards," declared the physiotherapist. "From the day of the injury to the tendon to the end of the first 45 days, there have been drastic improvements.

"However, what has impressed us the most is that the improvements have come without problems for the player," he continued.

"In terms of dedication, Ronaldo deserves a ten. His daily work is intense and he is doing everything to return as quickly as possible," concluded a positive Mazziotti.
