New Features for BZ

So I am going to take a couple weeks off of work in the next week or two to do some full time work on BZ. What you think would make BZ better or what you would like to see? I cant guarantee I can get to any/all of it but I can try. 

So here are a few ideas I have had floating around in my head for a while. 

1) Download all images from 3rd party websites and place them on BZ servers so we have no more link rot. 

2) Try to do some sort of "suggestion" engine where if you are viewing say X model it may say other people likes Y model, maybe introduce you to new models. (This may be too complex for my limited knowledge but I would like to try)

3) Perhaps create a landing page like Chilax had, maybe have some custom content or featured person every week or something along those lines. Not sure if anyone would be interested in this type of idea. 

4) Perhaps create a page where its easier to see a thumbnail of all the models instead of the names, I only occasionally click new threads and sometimes I find someone I like, but most often its a waste of time. Perhaps just having pictures would make it easier. 

1) Would this automatically textlink the images when quoted (similar to our attachment feature)? Would be great if we could also find a way to textlink quoted videos.

2) It is a cool feature but not sure is it necessary since we are a close knit community and members become friendly (or not) with each other quite fast.

1)  not sure how it would work honestly, for now just replace the links to imageshack or whatever with images as if you used the upload feature in BZ. The next step is to hire someone to "rate" every single image ever uploaded as "safe" or "unsafe" so I can put back google ads. Also they can mark it as nudity which would allow us to auto convert it to a text link. 

2) updated the text to be a bit more clear. Intended to say models instead of people, so you like Behati, you may also like Elsa Hosk... or something. 

4) just like a gallery where you can see names and a thumnail. Never been to this page before now but just googled model gallery and this popped up.

It would certainly put a dent in the size of animated sigs/avis.

yes that is something I want, to auto convert everyones Sigs to html5 videos, ideally we would not depend on gfycat as if they ever go under it will hurt but perhaps doing it locally could work. Thanks for reminding me (y)

Sounds good . In light of the 4th one, would that end also be served if the same feature that makes the topic starter's profile picture come up when the cursor touches their name also made the first post come up in a similar box? That way, if someoe starts Katya Cassonova's thread, they can just wave the cursor on the topic name and such.

Just throwing this out there, maybe a little facebook symbol linking to the Bellazon FB on the home page of BZ, perhaps on the side bellow Calender Events, Birthdays and New Topics?

Also I've said it before, but I think a longer banner/elimination of the empty space on the top of the website I think will improve the appearance of the site tenfold.

Yes, when an image uploaded onto the BZ sever is quote the image automatically converts into a text link. I hoping the new system would do the same thing along w/ quoted videos (Y)

Ok officially have 2 weeks of vacation started Sept 7th

I was out of town but half working/half on vacation.

Now I took 2 weeks off to stay in town at home, working on BZ 100% without any distractions, or at leasts thats the hope. 

Curious if we could finally update our rules on Signature/Avatar sizes to something like 200x200, or 250x250, and Signature 600 x 200 or something?  As monitors sizes and resolution keep getting bigger, our current avatar/siggy sets keep getting smaller   I just bought a new monitor and was shocked to see how small everyone's sets actually were.

It's not a big deal if we don't change the rules, I thought it might be nice to get a size upgrade and I know a lot of BZers would appreciate the change.

How big is your monitor? I work almost exclusively on my 15" macbook these days and everything looks proportional. 

I have a 24" & a 27" that are new. I used to be on a 23" and everything was sized perfectly, but now.. . meh

Just a quick update I have 60 machines downloading images from BZ right now finally working. Already 15gb with only 50k posts processed :| (we have 3+million posts)

Tonight I will be working on how to get those download images back into the posts seamlessly. Just wanted to give everyone a quick update that things are getting done
