From the last time this dumb complaint was raised:

And, by the way, resizing images in Photoshop and posting them as "UHQ" is, uh, bullshit.

Edit (to the Instagram situation):
Personally, I don't like that Instagram-spam either, especially the way they are being implemented by Bellazon rn.
Instagram embeddings take much longer to load than several 100MBs worth of images do, because those embeddings are packed with innumerable hot-links.
(IG stories): Vertical video embeddings are limited in width 700px but not in height AND they are not responsive which makes them bigger than they should be.
Some users are aware of these problems and do their BEST to make their IG-posts less obtrusive...
(text-linking instead of embedding, using spoiler-boxes, editing posts instead of making a new one, etc.).
